How Does it Work?

Muscle Activation Techniques, or MAT, is a noninvasive system used to restore symmetry and balance to the body's muscular system by improving range of motion, joint stability and muscle strength. MAT helps the muscular system be more efficient and effective, which improves performance and reduces pain.

1

Identify Weakness

Assess your neuromuscular function by performing a series of mobility tests and then correlating the limitations in range of motion (ROM) with muscle tests that can identify which specific muscles are not contracting efficiently.

2

Activate Muscles

We activate each muscle weakness through either isometric contractions or specific force application to the origin and insertion points of the affected muscle.

3

Restore Function

Clients report that their original symptoms greatly decrease after MAT sessions as we work to re-establish and strengthen the connections between the nervous system and the muscular system.

MAT is effective for:

  • Injury rehabilitation

  • Injury recovery

  • Sports injury treatment

  • Pain management

  • Chronic pain relief

  • Post-surgery rehabilitation

  • Joint pain treatment

  • Muscle pain relief

  • Soft tissue injury treatment

Life is Going To Beat You Up & You'll Need Someone To Put You Back Together

MAT Practitioners have a deep understanding on how isolated muscle function can contribute to the total body integrated system. MAT looks at the integrated system by breaking it down into its isolated parts. Through assessing the function of each individual muscle and its relationship to total body function, MAT is able to address those isolated weaknesses in order to improve total body muscle performance.
